So at the end of the original Halloween, Michael Myers disappears when Loomis looks out the window. In the new timeline (2018), it is presumed that he's caught soon after this part. But regardless of whether he is caught (thus following the 2018 timeline) or whether he gets away (thus allowing for the Thorn/H20 timeline), Laurie would still be taken to the hospital and, really, until Michael Myers gets there I don't see any reason why her scenes would be different. So whichever timeline we're in, I think Laurie's few scenes at the hospital before Michael Myers shows up (mainly her interactions with Jimmy the paramedic) would still be canon. They would happen regardless of whether Michael Myers was caught or not. So the new timeline perhaps should include elements of Halloween 2? Idk, even I think this is a bit of a stretch but has any got any thoughts on this?
Is there anything to suggest that they're non-canon? If not, could I be justified in going by them as canon and saying Laurie survived in the 4-6 timeline and decapitates Michael?
Also, is The Devil's Eyes the same as H20, indicating that H20 can be set in the 4-6 timeline but only if Resurrection is ignored? Or are there differences that exclusively accommodate the 4-6 timeline that the film doesn't have?
Or am I to assume that it ends with either Tommy killing Michael and Loomis screaming for reasons unknown, or else Michael killing Loomis and continuing his rampage?
Or, would it be reasonable to go by the H20 timeline but ignore Resurrection by FanonDiscontinuity, as the latter got unfavorable reviews?
So, I read wikipedia's summary of the 2018 Halloween.
We know it's in a third timeline (fourth counting the reboot), this time diverging from the first film instead of the second.
We also know Michael's eye hasn't healed in this timeline, unlike the others.
However, based on the summary, there are two things I'd like confirmation on, to anyone who's seen the premier.
Contains spoilers of course.
Spoilers beyond this point. You have been warned.
1.) So, there's mention of Michael surviving getting shot, stabbed, and run over. Does this mean he's still supernatural here, and it's just injuries to his head that don't heal?
2.) If so, do they ever explain why he's resistant to damage, or is it left unknown like the H20 timeline?
MAJOR SPOILERS FOLLOW
3.) It says at the end he is set on fire inside a room full of flammable gas, just like in Halloween II, but it makes no mention to him afterwards. Does this mean Michael actually dies here (if nothing else, his head being burned finally finished him off, or being less resistant to damage)?
