Betty Bowles is a character who was first mentioned in the original Halloween and made an appearance in the short story Halloween: Charlie.

Betty Bowles was the observant wife of Charlie Bowles. During their marriage, they had twins who were both girls named Tiffany and Christina. On October 31, 1957, Betty and her husband were making love and at first, everything seemed normal for Betty until Charlie started to place his fingers between her legs. She looked upward at the ceiling as she felt violated and terrified at what Charlie was doing to her. When Charlie started to push harder on her, she questioned him and was given a firm and aggressive "quiet" in response.

A couple of years later, the family was enjoying dinner when Charlie spoke out and asked his daughters about their day; however, he addressed them as Judith and Lisa. Betty was surprised at this slip and asked her husband who was he talking about, as she was worried that there may have been another woman in her husband's life. Charlie asked his family what they were staring at and the family continued on eating their meal. Sometime in 1963, Betty and her family moved to a new home and on the first night, they were enjoying dinner when Charlie excused himself from the table.

Once he returned, he had a hacksaw in his hand, kissed his wife and two children goodbye, and murdered Tiffany, which shocked Betty and Christina. Charlie then focused on Betty and attacked her. He dragged the hacksaw up and down across her face as she screamed. Before she was dead, Charlie cut into her stomach and plunged his face into the hole he made, drenching his face with her blood and laughing.[1]
