Jeff Wayland is a character that only appears in the 1997 young adult novel The Old Myers Place.
Biography[]
Jeff Wayland was the son of the carpenter that worked for Mary White's family. He was set up on a blind date with Mary by Mary's mother and asked to show her around Haddonfield. Jeff and Mary dated throughout the summer, but Jeff eventually broke up with her for reasons unknown to her.
After Mary accepted a date with Josh Pinder, Jeff approached her with a warning about Josh being dangerous. He later was found unconscious in Mary's home after she was attacked by an unknown assailant, which the police attributed to him.
Jeff later returned to Mt. Sinclair Cemetery and saw a jack-o-lantern glowing from the grave of Judith Myers. He walked to the grave to see it closer and found the dead bodies of Shannon Geary and Kimmy Harrison nearby. He worried about Mary and rushed to Josh' party, only to find Josh attacking Mary and her cousin Julifer. He fought with Josh before football players chased them out of the party.
Jeff took Mary home and went back to the graveyard to show the police Kimmy's and Shannon's bodies, but they were no longer there. During his trip, Michael Myers returned to Mary's house and attacked her. Jeff returned just in time to stab the killer with a jagged metal pipe and cause a gas leak, which engulfed the house in flames, leading Jeff and Mary to falsely believe Michael was dead.
