"This is for doctor Loomis."
―Marion's last words[src]

Nurse Marion Chambers (born 1945) was the nurse of Samuel Loomis. She first appeared in the original Halloween and made her return in Halloween Kills. Marion is played by Nancy Stephens.

Biography[]

Attacked by the Shape[]

Marion Chambers was a nurse employed at Smith's Grove Sanitarium in Warren County, Illinois during the 1970s. On October 30, 1978, she was driving back to the hospital with her colleague, psychiatrist Doctor Samuel Loomis. A dangerous, homicidal patient named Michael Myers broke out of the hospital and accosted Marion in her car. She managed to get out of the vehicle, but Myers stole the car and began driving towards the town of Haddonfield.[1]

Aftermath[]

After Michael's rampage, Marion became acquainted with Lindsey Wallace, Tommy Doyle and Lonnie Elam. They bonded over their shared survival of encounters against Michael.[2]

Forty years after Michael's first rampage, he broke out again. Warned by this, Marion and the townsfolk gathered up to find him and fight against him. She was killed by Michael after his second escape.[2]

Legacy[]

A short time after her murder, Marion's body was discovered by Lonnie and Tommy. The latter attempted to take her hand before being called over upon Lindsey being discovered.[2]

After Tommy took the badly injured Lindsey to Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, he rushed to Laurie Strode's room. He mentioned Michael's murder of Marion and his attack on Lindsey, the exchange notably revealing to Laurie that Michael was still alive after her attempt to kill him earlier in the night.[2]

Notes and trivia[]

  • The name 'Marion Chambers' is a combination of two characters from the 1960 film Psycho: Marion Crane (whose actress, Janet Leigh, played Norma Watson in Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later) and Sheriff Chambers.
  • When Nancy Stephens was contacted by David Gordon Green about reprising her role as Marion, she had not yet seen the 2018 Halloween film and Green had to come visit her as she had recently broken her foot. Unaware of the franchise's multiple timelines, she told Green that she had already been killed in Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later and Green replied that it did not matter. Stephens gave a willing suspension of disbelief and said she "loved the gestalt of this movie, that he was doing this contemporary group therapy PTSD with those that survived Halloween and weren’t crazy people by now."
  • Along with Lonnie Elam, Tommy Doyle and Leigh Brackett, Marion is one of four characters who appeared in the 1978 Halloween film and survived only to later be murdered by Michael in Halloween Kills.
  • She is the first character to use the "Evil dies tonight" chant in Halloween Kills.
  • The masks that are placed over the faces of Marion, Vanessa and Marcus' corpses by Michael are from Halloween III: Season of the Witch.
