Max is an animal character in Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers.
Biography[]
Max was the pet of Jamie Lloyd and Rachel Carruthers. Max was more aggressive and alert than the previous Carruthers dog, Sundae. On Halloween 1989, Rachel's friend Tina Williams took Max with her to visit Jamie at the Haddonfield Children's Clinic. The clinic did not allow animals inside, so Tina sneaked him in and Jamie was overjoyed to see her dog. Moments later, Doctor Loomis entered the room so Tina knew it was time to leave with Max.[1]
Later on, Rachel and Tina were walking back towards Rachel's house and, as they were discussing what Rachel was going to do for Halloween, Max noticed and barked at Michael Myers who was watching the girls. Rachel thought nothing of this and went inside the house. Max later ran off from the house as he was distracted. Rachel later received a phone call from the clinic and was told that Jamie was worried about Max. Rachel called the police for aid in searching for Max, but after they searched the house, Max reappeared.[1]
Later on that day, Max was killed and taken to the Myers house where he was placed in the attic for Jamie to find along with the bodies of Rachel and Tina's boyfriend Mike.[1]
Notes and trivia[]
- Max's corpse is clearly a stuffed animal and it barks, even though Max is supposed to be dead.
- Max is the fourth dog to die in the series.
- Max was a Doberman Pinscher. Historically, this dog breed was used as a guard dog.
